Backseat Driver, operated by Backseat Media

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Backseat Driver mobile application (“the App”), operated by Backseat Media (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, accessing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you create an organiser account, you confirm that you are at least 16 and authorised to represent the series, championship or venue you register.
The App provides motorsport schedules, session reminders, championship standings, weather information and related data for a range of racing series, together with tools for organisers to publish event information. The App is an independent companion product.
Schedules, session times, standings, live timing and weather data are provided for general information only and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Times and events can change at short notice and data is drawn from third-party sources. Do not rely on the App as your sole source when making travel, attendance, ticketing or other decisions. Always confirm details with the official organiser, venue or championship. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any information in the App.
Organisers may publish content such as events, schedules and channel updates (“User Content”). You retain responsibility for your User Content and grant us a licence to host and display it within the App. You agree not to post content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.
We operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Users can report content from within the App, and we aim to review reports and remove violating content within 24 hours, and to remove or suspend the responsible accounts where appropriate. We may remove any content or restrict any account at our discretion to enforce these Terms.
You agree not to misuse the App, including by attempting to access it by means other than the interface we provide, interfering with its operation, scraping or overloading our services, reverse engineering, or using it to violate any law or the rights of others.
The App, its design and its original content are owned by Backseat Media and protected by intellectual property laws. Series names, team names, logos and trademarks (including but not limited to Formula 1®, MotoGP™, IMSA, WEC, NASCAR, IndyCar and others) are the property of their respective owners. Backseat Driver is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to any racing series, championship, team, venue or sanctioning body. Such names are used for identification and informational purposes only.
The App relies on third-party data and services (including OpenF1 for timing data, Cloudflare for hosting and weather, and Google Firebase for backend services). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or content of third-party services.
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Backseat Media will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on information in the App (including missed sessions or events, travel costs, or wasted expenditure). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required to protect the service or other users.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.
