Common Questions

How do I add or remove favourite series?

Tap "ADD" on the home screen to choose new series, or use the "REORDER" option to rearrange them. To remove a series, tap into it and toggle the star icon in the top right.

How do I change session reminder times?

Go to Settings → Notifications. You can pick multiple reminder intervals (5, 15, 30, 60, or 120 minutes before each session).

Why don't I see notifications on Android?

Make sure notifications are enabled in your device's system settings for Backseat Driver, and that you've enabled them inside the app under Settings → Notifications.

The app says "no upcoming sessions" — what's wrong?

Pull down on the home screen to refresh. If the issue persists, try restarting the app. The schedule cache refreshes periodically.

How do I report an inappropriate event-channel post?

Tap the flag icon on any post in an event's updates channel to report it for review. We aim to review reports and remove violating content within 24 hours.

Account & Data Deletion

This explains how to request deletion of your Backseat Driver (operated by Backseat Media) organiser account and its associated data.

How to request deletion

  1. Open Backseat Driver and go to your Organiser settings.
  2. Select Delete account and confirm.

Alternatively, email backseatdriverdevs@gmail.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Account deletion request”, and we will process it for you.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted we remove your organiser profile and branding, your contact email address, your account login, your username reservation, and the events you created.

What may be retained, and for how long

Some data may be kept for a limited period where required for security, fraud prevention or to meet legal obligations. Anonymised, aggregated analytics that cannot identify you may be retained. Crash and diagnostic logs are not linked to your account and expire automatically. Account deletion requests are completed within 30 days.
